40 Days in the Word

The people of Gloria Dei are currently studying 40 Days in the Word in small group settings.    The goals of this new small group study are to:

Love the Word of God like you’ve never loved it before

Learn the Word of God like you’ve never learned it before, and

Live the Word of God like you’ve never lived it before!

Our small groups are learning how to be "doers" of God's Word. In Micah 6:8, the Word of God tells us "He has showed you, O man, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."    Following the instructions in God's Word, our small groups are doing Micah 6:8 projects.   Here's what some teams have already committed to doing:

"Our small group is assisting a family who lost their home in a fire."

" . . . (group leader)  is checking into how we can serve a meal at the Ronald McDonald House in Galveston."

"We're providing care packages for the women and children at Bay Area Turning Point."

"We've purchased bibles to hand out to the homeless.  A five dollar bill tucked between the pages is an added gift."

"The members of our small group bring non-perishable food items to our meetings to give to the local food pantries."

"Our small group is serving a dinner for the Bacliff community at the Lighthouse building next Saturday."
