Our Future
"Gloria Dei will be a growing community of diverse individuals passionately following Jesus." So begins our Vision Statement, based on Ephesians 4, and our commitment.
A few years ago a gifted group of individuals came together to form our Vision 2010 Task Force. They studied, prayed together, and met over a period of months, developing projections for our future in ministry, and determining what will be required to remain effective in spreading the Word and building the kingdom. While remaining true to God's Word, our mission and ministry plans are dynamic - changing and adapting to meet the needs of our community.
In cooperation with Church Development Partners and the Lutheran Church Extension fund, Gloria Dei has purchased a 43.5 acre tract of land along the rapidly developing League City Parkway in League City, Texas. Our Multi-Site Ministry Team is continuing to work on the Mission Plan that will guide our ministry in this high growth area. Located across from the beautiful main entrance of the Tuscan Lakes Development, this location is highly visible, easily accessible, and will soon be surrounded by thousands of new homes and families.
Our first step in the implementation of our multi-site plan, began on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008, when League City Campus oficially began to worship at Goforth Elementary School at 2610 Webster Street in League City. The campus provides Bible study for all ages at 9:30 am and modern worship at 11:00 am each Sunday. On the Saturday before Easter, hundreds of families enjoyed out Easter Eggstravganza at this League City Campus.
While we are initially strategically looking to our south, we are completely committed to the ministry based at our Nassau Bay Campus. Initiatives in Outreach, Student Ministry, and spiritual formation will be a major part of the future at Gloria Dei. Talk with us about how you can be a part of that future.
