April 2012
Dear Parents,
What a wonderful Easter season we celebrate as God sacrificed His Son for the
forgiveness of our sins. The ultimate act of Love from our Lord and Savior. During Lent and through the Resurrection we are reminded that repentance and forgiveness is our gift from God that we are asked to unselfishly give to others. Our Early Childhood Ministries celebrates God’s presence in our program (our hallways and classrooms and
interactions with the children and their families) and leads in the task of demonstrating
God’s endless love and forgiveness to the community.
We have many exciting activities planned for next few weeks in April. Please check your child’s classroom for information and sign-up sheets.
You may want to make note of some IMPORTANT EVENTS and dates coming up:
April 6-9 The ECM will be CLOSED for Good Friday and ECM Faculty Professional Development. You are invited to worship with us during Holy Week and Easter. Service times are listed at www.gdlc.org.
April 10-11 will be the ECM SPRING FLING from 9am until 12 pm. We would love to have parents and family join us in our very special day of activities. Children should wear their BLUE ECM t-shirts.
April 15-21 is VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK. Thank you for all you do to help support our program. You are invited to attend a special Parent/Volunteer Chapel at 9:10 am on the 19th and/or 20th. We would like to be able to bless you and thank you for your time, energy, effort and resources.
April 22-28 celebrates the WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD. Make this a special time in your child’s life to celebrate all of the joy they bring into our lives. Take the time to show them just how special they are.
April 22-28 is Earth Week. Mr. and Mrs. Rao with the TEXAS PARKS AND
WILDLIFE (and parents of two of our ECM children and two ECM graduates) have
offered to participate in a special educational presentation of God’s creatures during Earth Week. The children love the critters that are able to learn about during this
presentation !!
Tjank you so much for your participation and support during NATIONAL LUTHERAN SCHOOLS WEEK. The children, faculty and even some of the children’s parents had a lot of fun being wild, zany and silly. What a blessing you are to the local missions. We were able to share non-perishable food items with the Interfaith Caring Ministries.
Children learn best by the examples set by the adults around them, and your generosity is truly and inspiration to your children. The children also learn that they may share God’s love by helping other children through their small but important contributions. They really can make a difference!!
Just a reminder ..... The parking lot is just another “real life” opportunity to model the love of Christ to our children: by driving the posted speed limits to avoid unnecessary collisions; by following the traffic patterns and directions that have been set; by being courteous and parking in the 5 Minute Parking if that is all you intend to stay an not blocking others in for extended periods of time; and constantly watching for children that dart down the sidewalk and into the street and away from their parents.
Most of the acceptance letters have been mailed to the families interested in the ECM program for the 2012-2013 school year.
If you have not received this information from ECM, please contact us
immediately so that we may verify the information we have is correct. All registration fees are now being collected by the Director to secure your child’s (fall) placement in the program. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the status of your child’s enrollment, please feel free to inquire at . Registration fees that have not been
collected will automatically place your child’s registration request in the
waiting pool and forfeit your child’s secured placement in the classroom.
