Library time is offered to children in the Three-Year-Old Preschool classes through Kindergarten. Young children are exposed to the Library with their classroom teacher as they explore language through text. As children enter into the prekindergarten and kindergarten levels of our program their Library experience includes new stories, book buddies, a discussion of the story presented, and then a reinforcement or recreation of the story through activities that develop their imagination. After the story time, children are free to browse the books in the library. Children enrolled in the Kindergarten Class are able to check out the library books to take home and share with their families. Many developing language skills, written, aural and oral, are reinforced through literature.

March Newsletter
Dear Parents,
The month of March we will be reading very funny books and books about farm animals. March 1-5 is Dr. Seuss Week and we will also be reading some of his wonderful books.
The Kindergarten class will be reading “Oh The Thinks You Can Think!” by Dr. Seuss, “What If” by A.H. Benjamin, “Pigsty” by Mark Teague, “Miss Moo Goes To The Zoo” by Kelly Graves. Their special projects will be drawing a thinking picture, making an animal book, a pig, and making zoo animals.
The PK-5 Class will be reading “Green Eggs and Ham” by Dr. Seuss, “ Farm Flu” by Teresa Batinka, “Teeny Tiny” by Tomi Depola, and “Look Out Patrick” by Paul Geharty. The special projects will be making green eggs and ham, a cow, drawing a schoolhouse and making a spring collage.
The PK- 4 Class will be reading “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish” by Dr. Seuss, “The Flea’s Sneeze” by Karla Firehanmer, and “George Paint His House” by Francine Basscole and “The Greedy Python” by Eric Carle. The special projects will be making fish, drawing a house and coloring it their favorite color, and re-creating a story with animals, and making a snake.
The PS-3 Class will be reading “Put Me In The Zoo” by Dr. Seuss, “The Crayon Box That Talked” by Shane DeRolf, “The Little Mouse and the Big Red Strawberry” by Don Wood and “Elmer:” by David McKee.
Many of the children are really improving in their language skills and showing a real interest in "reading". Continue to read with them at home and allow them to read to you. Make trips in the car and to the store a fun language experience by challenging them with the letters and words around them.
Spring Break is the week on March 15-19. This is a time to relax, rejuvinate and by all means READ.
In His Service, Carol Krueger Librarian
