Traditional Worship at Gloria Dei is focused on the worship and praise of God. Stirring messages are Bible-centered and will challenge and encourage you as you deal with practical application of God's word in your daily living. These services will often include real life stories of how God is working in and through the lives of His people today. The music for traditional worship includes classic hymns along with new songs and hymns of the faith
8:00am Traditional Worship in the Chapel is led by a cantor and organ and includes music from the Lutheran liturgy as well as great hymns of the faith.
9:30am Traditional Worship in the Worship Center is led by the Celebration Choir, organ and piano with frequent use of the Gloria Dei Brass and the Gloria Dei Celebration Ringers. Other string and wind instruments are sometimes used to complement the music at this service. This service includes majestic arrangements of the great hymns of the faith along with new songs and ballads that relate to the message of the day.
People and children of all ages attend the traditional worship services. Dress for this service is mostly business casual but ranges from casual to suits and dresses.

Celebration Choir
The purpose of the Celebration Choir is to honor God by singing His praises and to lead the people of God in worship and celebration each Sunday at the 9:30am worship service in the Worship Center and occasional special services and concerts during the year. Soloists and ensembles from this 60-member choir sing for the 8:00am traditional worship services.
This choir rehearses every Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00pm in the Worship Center beginning August 1st.The choir sings regularly for 9:30 Traditional worship. Requirements for participation in the choir include a love of singing and a dedication to leading worship each week. No audition is required for the Celebration Choir, but you do need to be able to match pitch. That means you need to be able to sing on key. Ability to read music is an asset but not a requirement. The Festival Choir
The Festival Choir is a large choir at Gloria Dei that sings for festival celebrations and concerts (Easter, Christmas and Freedom Sunday). This choir is made up of singers from the Celebration Choir and other singers who are able to rehearse and sing for these special occasions. Gloria Dei Brass
The Gloria Dei Brass is our brass ensemble that plays for the 9:30am worship service on three Sundays each month. This group plays special music, accompanies the Celebration Choir and hymn singing for worship, and also plays for special occasions. Membership in the Gloria Dei Brass is by audition and dependent on openings in the group. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 7:00pm in the Worship Center. Gloria Dei Celebration Ringers
The Gloria Dei Celebration Ringers is a group of handbell and hand chime players who add their musical offerings to the traditional worship services twice monthly during the school year. Directed by Amy Cupitt, this group rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30pm starting September 6th . Auditions are not required to join the handbell choir, but ability to read music is required. Contact Amy at acupitt@lycos.com for information on openings in this group.

Gloria Dei Orchestra
The Gloria Dei Orchestra plays for festival Sundays and special events during the year such as Easter, Christmas, Carols and Bells and Freedom Sunday. The orchestra is made up of adults and qualified high school students and membership is by audition. Ensembles from the orchestra are also used to complement the music for the traditional worship services throghout the year.
