Middle School Summer Mission Adventure - Austin, TX

Our students have opportunities to make an impact while they serve and share Christ with people from all walks of life!  Activities like these allow us to step out of our comfort zone, experience something new, and grow closer to Jesus as our walk as a disciple. Below you will find specific details for the middle school trip for our current 6th-8th grade students as well as some specific information about the registration process this year. 

Trip Details

This year our middle school students will be serving in Austin, TX with Leadertreks. The trip will run from June 13th-19th. The trip itself will be a unique one, combing work projects days with adventure opportunities throughout the city of Austin. Leadertreks puts an extra emphasis on discovering your calling throughout the trips so each night we will gather together for worship and conversation about our calling as Christians and our specific callings as individuals.

Trip Cost

Through the generosity of God’s people at Gloria Dei we are able to cover over 50% of all of our student mission adventure costs for this summer through student scholarships. There is a deposit required for each adventure comprised of a financial deposit and serving deposit through two fundraisers (Soup Supper [4/1] and Trivia Night [4/10]). If the student, or a family representative, does not participate in the fundraising opportunities they will be financially responsible for the serving deposit by April 17th. Deposit totals and fundraising opportunities are below.

Middle School Mission Adventure Deposit

$50 Initial Financial Deposit
$50 Serving Deposit for Soup Supper (Due If Non-Participant in Fundraisers)
$100 Serving Deposit for Trivia Night (Due If Non-Participant in Fundraisers)

Payment Example: Student A pays the initial deposit of $50 and serves in both fundraisers. Student A doesn’t owe anymore money for the trip. Student B pays the initial deposit of $50 and serves at Soup Supper but not Trivia Night. Student B would be responsible for another payment of $100 for not participating in Trivia Night.

COVID-19 Testing Requirements

As we continue to keep ministry opportunities open for as many people as possible we understand that there are health concerns amidst the current pandemic. In order to ensure the health and safety of every student and adult leader on our summer mission adventures we are requiring proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test within three (3) days of our trip departure. Please send proof of vaccination or negative results to Ross at prior to arriving for your trip departure. We must receive proof of negative test results or vaccination to allow you on the trip. Pending results will not be accepted.

Additional Fee for Scholarship Fund Replenishment

We understand that everyone’s financial situation is different during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even in the midst of a stressful season we know that some people have continued to see God’s blessings in financial ways. If you would like to help replenish the Student Scholarship fund at Gloria Dei for future student trips there will be an option to do so at the end of the registration page. You can give above and beyond your initial deposit in increments of $25. This additional gift will count towards your annual contributions. 


We have a very limited number of spots this year due to COVID-19 precautions. After all spots have been filled for the mission adventure a waitlist will be started. If you are added to the waitlist, you will not owe any deposit money until you are added to the trip. Please read all information on the first page as you will be asked to confirm it in the registration.
