Welcome Back Sunday (9 & 11am)

Worship

We have been preparing for a month now to welcome you back to worship this Sunday at 9 and 11am, and we are so excited to reunite with our Gloria Dei family! As we do so though, we open with new health and safety procedures that you will experience before and during worship. These procedures are based on the Governor’s Strike Force to Open Texas for Churches and Places of Worship and include, but are not limited to:

  • A Worship Check-in Process with a pre-screening questionnaire and non-contact temperature check. You can find details on the process here.
  • Masks are not required and are up to the discretion of each person.
  • Entry through the Life Center doors only. All other entrances will be locked.
  • No food or beverages served. This includes coffee.
  • Families can sit together, but we are asking you to appropriately distance yourself from other families and use every other pew. Each pew will be marked with a sign.
  • Childcare available for children 6 weeks-Kindergarten only. All other ministry environments are closed. Please click here to see the new procedures specific to childcare.

As we yearn to reconnect in person with you, we do so cautiously, prioritizing the health and safety of our members, visitors, volunteers and staff. Please know that we will continue live streaming for those not ready to return to the building as well as past this pandemic to continue the missional opportunity that God has placed before us through online worship. Due to a variety of streaming issues with Facebook Live and Vimeo these past months, we have been “beta-testing” a new online platform designed for live streaming that will be one centralized place for viewing, chatting and engaging with elements of worship. I am excited to share with you that our testing results were very positive with this streaming platform. Moving forward, go to gdlc.online.church to live stream with us!

As we are now entering a new phase of worship for Gloria Dei with simultaneous on campus and online worship, as well as changes to our normal worship experience in the midst of a pandemic, we will all experience something different that may or may not challenge our status quo, our opinions, and our emotions. I pray that as we celebrate the gift of worship and the gathering of the body of Christ, we do so with grace and flexibility, whether you worship on campus or online. Remember that we are united in faith in God, who created us, His Son, Jesus Christ who lived and died for each of us, and the Holy Spirit who lives within us. When we come together in Jesus’ name, He uses us to do powerful things to expand His kingdom. “Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.” 2 Corinthians 4:1.

We look forward to seeing you on campus or online this Sunday and pray God’s richest blessings to each of you.
