Serve Day is your opportunity to take a step on your personal discipleship journey by loving and serving your neighbor. Choose from multiple serving opportunities for all ages supporting our local mission partners as well as our CarePoint in Uganda, and invite your family and friends to join you! Please sign-up as there are limits on how many people can serve in some locations. 

Galveston County Food Bank | Texas City | 10 volunteer spots | Ages 11 and older

Help build boxes with non-perishable, family-friendly foods for the Backpack Buddy program. These boxes are distributed to schools throughout Galveston County for children who are facing food insecurity. Volunteers must be at least 11 years old. Any volunteers 17 and younger must have a parent with them. At this time, masks and closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early.

Nassau Bay Clean-Up | 10 volunteer spots

We’re teaming up with Nassau Bay to help keep the shoreline clean of trash and debris. This a great serving opportunity for any age with parent supervision. Please bring your own water, gloves, and wear closed-toe shoes.

Lighthouse Christian Ministries | Bacliff garden | 8 volunteer spots

Lighthouse Christian Ministries is a beacon of hope in the Bacliff area. One of the many ways they serve the Bacliff area is through their community garden at K. E. Little Elementary. Please bring your own water, gloves, and any tools you feel would be helpful for gardening. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.

Lighthouse Christian Ministries | Bacliff outdoor painting | 6 volunteer spots | 6th grade or older

The Community Garden at K. E. Little Elementary is also home to a stage and seating area that is used for presentations by the school as well as education workshops for the garden. Volunteers for this project should be 6th grade or older and have a parent volunteering with them. All supplies will be provided. Participants should bring their own water and work gloves.

Lighthouse Christian Ministries | Rebuilding garden beds | 4 volunteer spots

The Community Garden at K.E. Little Elementary utilizes raised garden beds for their plants. Four of the beds need to be rebuilt. Volunteers will receive a list of potential tools that will be needed for the project once we get closer to the event.

Whitcomb Elementary | Clear Lake landscaping | 8 volunteer spots

Whitcomb Elementary has a few places in front of the building that could use a little attention. Volunteers will work together to remove weeds, replace mulch, and plant new flowers. This volunteer opportunity is for any age. Please bring your own water, sunscreen, and work gloves. If you have tools that you feel would be helpful with this job, please bring them with you.

Whitcomb Elementary | Clear Lake teacher encouragement | 6 volunteer spots | Ages 16 and older

Everyone loves a little encouragement now and then. This project will be focused on the teacher bathrooms at Whitcomb Elementary. Volunteers will add encouraging/inspirational sayings to bathroom doors and mirrors. Vinyl lettering will already be cut in advance. Volunteers will only need to bring a mask and a lot of patience. This volunteer opportunity is best for 16 and older.

Anchor Point | Inside cleaning | 5-6 volunteer spots | Ages 12 and older

Bring your cleaning supplies and help clean the counseling offices at Anchor Point's Seabrook location. The Seabrook location consists of a lobby, a few small offices, and 2 restrooms.

Anchor Point | Outside gardening | 5-6 volunteer spots

While cleaning is going on inside the counseling center, we need a group to help spruce up the outside space at Anchor Point. Volunteers will weed the flower beds, put down new mulch, and plant new flowers.

Join the landscaping team to help get Gloria Dei's grounds back in shape after the freeze. Due to the use of certain pieces of lawn equipment, we ask that all volunteers on this team be 18 or older.

Orphan Grain Train | Gloria Dei

If you can't make it to any of the serving times, but would still like to participate, this is the option for you! Orphan Grain Train of South Houston is collecting items for Today's Harbor for Children. Bring items listed below to the Life Center entrance and place them in the box labeled Orphan Grain Train.
