
Gloria Dei has the blessing and honor of being the first church to ever host the Texas District Convention for the LCMS on June 5th, 6th, and 7th. We want this to be the best convention ever, so we are going to need help with hospitality, registration, parking lot attendants, and much more. This means that we need all of the skills, abilities, and gifts of our amazing congregation.
If you are interested in volunteering, please register and the coordinator for the volunteer area(s) you identify will reach out to you. A brief explanation of each volunteer area is below.
- Breakout Session Room Coordinator - Ensure the classroom is ready for each breakout session, that all materials are in place, and act as a runner if any items are needed for the breakout session.
- Coffee/Drink Team - Prepare and deliver coffee to the designated areas, ensure all supplies (e.g., cups and sugar) are available, and clean up all coffee/drink areas and supplies.
- Greeting/Information Team - Greet and provide assistance to guests as they arrive. Answer questions and provide directions in the building throughout the convention.
- Parking Lot Attendant Team - Coordinate parking and safe movement of all guests from our parking lot into the building. Ensure guests and volunteers are parking in designated areas.
- Registration/Check-In Team - Collaborate with the Registration Committee for on-site check-in and registration.
- Snack Team - Prepare and deliver snacks to the designated areas, ensure all supplies (e.g., plates and napkins) are available, and clean up all snack areas and supplies.
- Thursday Night Reception Team - This team will provide assistance during our Thursday evening reception for convention attendees.
- Vendor Support Team - This team will assist vendors with check-in and identifying the correct space where they set up.
