Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Hosts Texas District LCMS Pastoral Conference in Historic Venue Shift

Houston, TX — June 11, 2025 — Gloria Dei Lutheran Church recently served as the host site for the 2025 Texas District LCMS Pastoral Leadership Conference, marking a significant milestone as the first time in over 20 years that the event was held in a church facility rather than a hotel venue.

The conference brought together pastors and ministry leaders from across the Texas District for a time of worship, fellowship, theological discussion, and formal voting on synodical policies and leadership positions. Traditionally held in hotel conference centers, this year’s gathering represented a return to a congregational setting, allowing attendees to meet within the context of a local church community.

Gloria Dei provided space for large group sessions, breakout discussions, meals, and worship services throughout the multi-day event. The use of the church building offered a different environment than past years and required extensive logistical coordination and support.

This shift was made possible by the dedicated efforts of Gloria Dei’s staff and a large team of volunteers. These individuals served in numerous capacities, including hospitality, event setup, media support, food service, parking coordination, and facility management. Their contributions ensured that the event ran smoothly and that attendees were well-supported throughout their time on campus.

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church extends sincere thanks to every volunteer who contributed time and effort to help host this important district-wide event. Their work made it possible to return the Texas District LCMS Pastoral Conference to a church setting for the first time in more than two decades.
