The Bible
We believe the Bible is the only source of knowledge about God and His forgiveness, and is also the way in which He speaks to us today as the authority for our lives. It was written by people, as they were directed, and guided by God's Holy Spirit, and so it is true and without error.
There is only one true God
He has revealed Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe and respond to the love of the Triune God: the Father, who created all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for all of our sins, and rose to life again in the ultimate victory over death; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith in us through God's Word and His means of grace.
Jesus Christ is the son of God
In His perfect life on earth, He did what no one can do. Through His death on the cross, He took upon Himself the punishment for sin for all people. By defeating death and rising from the dead, Jesus showed the world that His sacrifice on the cross had been accepted by God the Father, paying for man's sin.
A Christian
We believe a Christian is one who is forgiven and called by God into a relationship with Jesus Christ. By grace, we are saved through faith. And this is not our own doing; it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8-9
Christians are called to be disciples
A disciple at Gloria Dei is one who seeks Christ first in all things in community, which means we are devoted and obedient, loving and serving, discipled and discipling. Learn more.
Death is not something to be feared
Those who trust in Jesus will live joyfully with Him in heaven for eternity. Death is a doorway to another level of intimacy with God.
